Step Up to High School

The transition from middle school to high school can be tough on kids, a transition that threatens to be even more difficult after this year of distance learning and hybrid school. Take the stress out of freshman year and feel in control with our Step Up to High School class. This small group class is designed to help ease the transition for rising 9th graders by building their organizational skills and academic knowledge. In this class, students will learn study skills and time-management techniques to navigate those critical first few months of freshman year. Additionally, students will develop the communication skills needed to advocate for themselves with administrators and teachers. To round out the class, students will be given assistance with their summer packets and an introduction to their freshmen-level English and Math classes. Students will engage in a positive support system that will help them begin their high school career on the right foot.

Bridge Classes

We understand how difficult school has been for many this year.  After almost a full year of virtual or hybrid school, students are finding themselves rudderless, losing focus, and falling behind.  That’s why this summer First Choice Prep will again be offering our popular Bridge Classes in Maths, Sciences, and the Humanities to help students get back on track as they get back to full-time in-person learning.
